Domestic energy assessors

This is what Domestic Energy assessors think of you, do not be ripped off, after August 1st 2007

From the Energy assessors forum

“I have just looked up in a couple of the big property websites in Bristol and Bath, and it lists hundreds and hundreds, certainly well over 600. With 4 Bed I think we should all charge a premium, in fact we could act like surveyors and charge a blood fortune.”

Time to stop this potential profiteering. Legally market your home after August 1st as large family home or 3 bed plus study. You are then free of the Energy performance certificate.

Ruth Kelly admitted she had no “legal definition of what constitutes a four bedroom house, for instance if a bedroom is being used as a study.” She said that there would be a “phased” introduction of the packs for smaller homes, but not when.

If you market as a large home, or large 3 bed plus study, there will not be any drop in property value as some web sites are predicting.

The public that’s you and I are not stupid, we know what sort of house we want, and the price we want to pay. So how a house is marketed is irrelevant..

If you have 5 minutes listen, to this rambling farcical pod cast Domestic energy assessors discussing a forthcoming meeting with Ruth Kelly. And these are the people who want to come into our homes….
