Hips pack providers

Further to our post on Hips more confusion  Hips confusion. It would appear that the HIPs providers are now under the hammer to provide packs, that no one wants or in fact needs.

The Government today also welcomed a commitment from major HIP providers to guarantee an EPC and HIP to consumers within seven working days of a pack being commissioned – consumers will receive a £100 refund on the pack if it is not produced in time.

This is a bit silly as the packs contain in most cases, the incorrect local searches so they are in fact rubbish,  so why pay  £300 £400 £500 for a HIPs pack, regardless if they contain a refund…

So to avoid  the pack Just say you applied for it, or market as large 3 bed plus study..

“The big change in plans, which some have not noticed, is Ms Kelly’s admission that homeowners will be allowed to put their homes on sale without actually having a completed HIP to hand”.

Previously they were threatened with a £200 fine if the HIP wasn’t ready and waiting when the home went on sale.

From August 1, merely having applied for a HIP will satisfy the regulations.

“There is no central record in place to show whether sellers have or have not applied for their HIP.
